 This is
the latest from Mani Ratnam’s table. The prolific filmmaker has
been busy with his next flick Kadalfor the last few months.
The movie which deals with Rameswaram fishermen has Gautham
Karthik, son of ace actor Karthik and Thulasi, daughter of
yesteryear glam actress Radha, who has replaced Samantha in the
lead.
The movie also features Action King Arjun in a crucial character
and Arvindh Swamy playing a vital role.
Now, according to sources Mani has approached Nayanthara for a
role in Kadal. The gorgeous girl who was in the comeback mode
had considered it for a while.
An insider revealed that Nayan was offered a
significant role opposite Arjun but the former was wondering if
she had to take up the offer since she has been working with a
couple of films with big heroes including Ajith.
The only luring thing was the ‘Mani Factor’ but she was
hesistant about her character in the film. The latest, we hear,
is that she has turned down the offer.
Arjun has told this newspaper earlier that he was not essaying a
role with grey shades as rumoured! “It’s a powerful role. Apart
from ‘Mani’ factor, what prompted me to accept this flick was
its unusual characterisation”, he had said. |
