We expected that Shruthi Haasan will be busy
shuttling to Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad to act in films but
she is flying to Tirupathi and Trivandrum to visit temples
What is that all of a sudden you have started visiting temples?
Do you have great faith in God? - There is no Pooja room in my
house. My father also never taught me to pray but I have great
faith in God. Not alone Tirupathi and Trivandrum temples, I am
visiting lots of temples without anyone’s knowledge. This is
purely my relationship with God. I am not particular about any
God. If I feel like worshipping a particular God, I will worship
him. My dad never asked me about this. I also never told him
about this.
Are you acting in a remake film since Gabbar Singh was a hit? Is
there any sentiment attached to this? - No. I never thought that
way. Prabhu Deva who directed the Telugu film Unakkum Enakkum is
remaking this film in Hindi. I am the heroine of this film. The
original film was remade four or five years back. Lots of things
have changed during this period so there will be some changes in
the screenplay according to the present trend of Bollywood. This
will be a musical film. Gabbar Singh is the remake of the Hindi
film Dabangg but no one told me that I had acted like Sonakshi
Sinha. If the film is good, it is okay with me.
This is the time that you are going to be a
hit heroine. Now you have started concentrating in musical
albums and TV shows. Will it not affect your cinema career? -
Cinema is a career. I am sparing my time and giving my work with
dedication but music is my soul. I can never leave music. I
liked the Rush Show music in MTV in which I compose tunes for my
music. I don’t know what the heroine Shruthi will be doing after
10 years but definitely she will be performing as a musician.
There is still an image that you are the daughter of Kamal
Haasan - I am proud about it. Even if I want I cannot avoid
that. Every time the audience will see me as Kamal’s daughter
only but I should prove my mettle in acting then only people
will know that Shruthi Haasan has scored. This is the mileage in
